Deborah Buckwalter, Ph.D.
As humans, we are frequently challenged with the need to adjust– to unforeseen changes and transitions, to loss, to injury and illness, or to the pressures of everyday life. And sometimes adjustment is needed in relation to an event or process of our own choosing (divorce, elective surgery, spiritual quest). For individuals who wish to deepen their understanding of themselves and their circumstances, or for those struggling with specific challenges, my commitment is to come alongside and help you cope, gain insight, problem-solve, heal, and adjust such that life can be lived as fully and genuinely as possible.
Treatment begins with assessment of your specific circumstances and how they impact you and then proceeds as a joint commitment to actively address your concerns. My approach to healing incorporates INTERPERSONAL NEUROBIOLOGY (IPNB), an interdisciplinary understanding of how the brain develops and is continuously shaped by interpersonal relationships.
Neuropsychological Evaluation: With expertise in brain functioning, I provide comprehensive assessment of conditions/injuries/diseases of the brain (e.g. normal aging, TBI, ADHD, stroke, seizure disorder, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Asperger’s). Psychological Assessment: I.Q., personality, surgical readiness, personal insight, fitness for duty.
