Christine Peterson, Ph.D.

Individual and Couple's counseling

I help men, women, and couples work through difficulties arising out of depression and/or anxiety. If you are struggling with the aftermath of loss, such as loss of a loved-one, a job, or a change in your life circumstances, you may be experiencing surprisingly forceful emotional reactions. Getting help to understand and work with these reactions can save you a great deal of time and unnecessarily extended pain.

As a psychodynamic therapist I work with both the conscious and the unconscious mind. The unconscious mind takes into account the fact that there are limitations to our awareness and helps you develop a meaningful and respectful relationship to the powerful forces at play within your internal world.

My approach helps develop a meaningful and respectful relationship to the forces at play within your internal world. Some imagine that a psychoanalytically psychotherapy means the therapist is passive and silent. That is not how I work. I am active and responsive to what my clients bring to sessions.
