My name is Kim Shaffer. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and have a Masters Degree in Counselor Education. I offer individual, couples and family therapy at my private practice located at 88 Hammond Street, Suite 301, Bangor, ME. I have over 20 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings which include, but are not limited to: a psychiatric hospital, county jail, community colleges, mental health agencies and private practice. Among my areas of expertise are the treatment of depression, partner relational conflict, PTSD, anxiety, sexual disorders, gambling, and co-occurring disorders.

I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
